HERRICK
BAY This design was created a number of years ago as a simple-to-build cruiser for the budding amateur builder. She features all plywood planking and decks, glued and nail fastened to bulkhead frames for strength, tightness and ease of construction. The bulkhead framing eliminates the usual large number of sawn frames to simplify the overall building system. The two sister ships feature good accommodations for boats of their size.
The 18 footer sleeps two with galley and enclosed toilet, while the 20 footer sleeps four in two forward berths and a convertible dinette, and also includes an enclosed head and workable galley. Outboard power can be as low as 50 hp for speeds to 14 knots or as much as 90 hp for truly flashing performance. Single or twin engines as desired.
The design fee includes plans for both boats with complete blueprints and written specifications.
Study plans contain sufficient drawings to price out materials or obtain a professional bid; the cost of study plans is credited if complete plans are later ordered. Complete plans include rights to build one boat, plus reasonable consultation during construction.
