QUIET TIMES
A 34' Inland Waters Cruiser
Brewer Design #244

QUIET TIMES was designed to offer the conservative yachtsman an easily built, economical, long range cruiser that is well suited to the many fascinating waterways that cover North America; the Trent-Severn System, the Rideau Canal, the Erie Canal, the Inter Coastal Waterway, the big rivers of the Midwest and the inshore waters from Washington to Alaska, from New Jersey to Maine. There are many thousands of miles of beautiful waterways waiting to be explored by the adventurous.

QUIET TIME's styling is strictly 1920s so she is easy to build, will not become dated, and will attract favorable attention wherever she sails. The construction is of marine plywood on simple sawn framing, fastened with epoxy glue, bronze screws and barb nails. Her arc bottom is much stronger than a flat bottom yet no more difficult to build.

Power can be by a single inboard diesel of 25-40 h.p. or twin 4 stroke outboards, such as the Honda models. Her prismatic coefficient of .642 is ideal for 8-9 knot speeds at moderate throttle openings and this assures maximum fuel economy.

The accommodations are excellent with comfortable cockpits both fore and aft to simplify line handling in the locks. There is plenty of space for a couple to live aboard for long periods, and room for occasional guests. Stowage throughout is generous and the aft cabin roof has space for a good sized dinghy. With proper curtains, the aft cockpit becomes another room and is a wonderful place to sit and watch the sunset while the yacht rocks gently at anchor.

It would be difficult to find another motor yacht that offers more in the way of versatility, accommodations, economy of operation and simplicity of construction.
