VISION VISION was designed for an owner who required a combination of performance, comfort and seaworthiness in a vessel suited to both extended cruising and club racing. Performance is assured by her easily driven, long waterline hull of moderate displacement, powered by a tall rig with generous sail area. The NACA fin and skeg/rudder provide the directional stability required by the cruising yachtsman. In heavier winds her bustle stern and .556 prismatic coefficient add up to high potential speeds while good beam and ample ballast will help to keep her on her feet. The tall double spreader rig is strongly stayed with double lowers and runners and the mast is keel stepped for strength. The inboard cutter rig is easily handled by a short handed crew and her wide flush decks further simplify sail changes and reefing when required. Comfort is assured by the handy pilot house, roomy U-shaped galley, diesel heater, stall shower, wet locker handy to the companionway, 3 large hanging lockers, generous stowage, etc. She can accommodate 7-8 for a weekend but VISION will prove very comfortable for a crew of 2-4 for longer cruises. Large tankage gives her a wide radius under power and any diesel in the 35-50 hp. category will move her along nicely. Construction is of fiberglass and can be by any of the usual one-off methods, foam core, balsa core, strip plank core or C-flex, as preferred. VISION will reward the cruising skipper with a fast, blue water cruiser with all the comforts needed for long range cruising or live-aboard use.
